The marsh folk tell tales of ravenous beasts prowling the foul-smelling, liquid arteries and of the dead returning at the bidding of spiteful bog witches. One such threat is said to be trapped under Bitter Mound. But the valiant tale of heroism that ensnared the creature has faded with each huff of disbelief. After almost two centuries of dedicated service to the local shrine of Mannab, the nearby village chased the last elder caretaker away. His pleas went unheard and the shrine has since been left unattended. Months have passed and the sealing stele’s power wanes, soon to decay as all things do in Wraith Marsh.
The Scorned Oath is a combat encounter, ranging from medium to deadly in difficulty for four to six players, averaging 9th level.
