What do you do, now that the war is over? 

In the urban sprawl of New York City, visions of the Vietnam War haunt young soldiers returned home, shadows taunting them for their actions in the war. Faces reminding them of their actions. Visions blurring the lines of reality, as guilt hangs on every wall. Or are they?

When a strange letter arrives from an old platoonmate, claiming to have uncovered something strange about their deployment, the investigators are thrust into a spiraling conspiracy, full of revelations, new fears, and facing the horrors within, threatening to shatter their grasp on reality altogether. 

There are no chanting cultists to fight to the death. There is no ritual to summon an eldritch horror. The real horror is what the mind finds and how it faces the reality of the lights in the trees. 

Written for Call of Cthulhu, 7th edition, this scenario for 3-4 investigators is set in 1975 New York. Five pre-generated investigators are provided, including custom character sheets, inspired by the stories of actual Vietnam veterans. The scenario is designed for a single 3 – 4 hour session of play and provides a sandbox of experiences for the investigators. 

Content warnings: violence, blood, body horror, gaslighting, drug use, addiction, feelings of isolation, possible PvP, war imagery, potential references to suicide, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
