Publisher: Michael BrownRoys had just managed to close the voices out of his head when the arena’s lights dimmed. A spotlight pierced the darkness as a pounding rock beat shook the arena. The light focused on a slender woman with waist-length raven hair carrying herself with almost superhuman grace. Grasping a loop of cord, she ascended to a waiting platform high above the arena floor. Once aloft, she stepped onto the platform and discarded her line with a conspicuous flourish.
The girl danced lightly on the platform for a few moments, her movements designed to show the audience that she wore no safety gear of any kind. Then she danced to the edge of the platform…and deliberately pitched forward into space.
A gasp erupted from the stunned spectators. Roys scanned the plummeting form to see if she were wearing a grav belt. No, she wasn’t. The girl fell…10 meters…20…
But just before reaching the floor, the girl spread her arms and gracefully soared upward to thunderous applause. The aerialist flew around the perimeter of the venue as the audience went wild with excitement. When she reached Roys’ seat, she stopped directly in front of him, smilingly extending a hand.
“Go ahead, Roys. Take a chance,” a voice — a male voice — whispered in his head. Intrigued, Roys took the offered hand, which was placed firmly around the girl’s waist. Circling his waist with an equally sure grip, she took off again, the two of them effortlessly soaring high above the delighted attendees.
As they flew, the voice entered Roys’ head again. “We’re happy you’ve chosen to bring your gift to us, Roys. We know you have had trouble controlling it in the past. We can teach you how if you are willing to learn.”

The file includes a brief history of the circus; a discussion of its methods, motivations, reach, and influence; an overview of character types typically found working for the circus; and a set of stats compatible with those found in External Factors: Organizations.
