  But to others still, she is the City of Merciless Shadow. And with this side of her comes the others, though it leads to a dagger in the back at the hands of a smiling face.
  Whatever else can be said for Crescentport, she has earned these reputations and many others. She is a city scarred by fires, wars, plagues and natural disasters. An improbable city that should not have survived into her three hundredth year of existence…And yet here she stands.
  For all of her many nicknames, one holds true above the others; The City that Refused to Die.”
  I worked with an artist by the name of Phil Stone on this project, a man who likes to draw pictures as much as I enjoy writing stories. This is meant to be an immersive experience, just as much as it is meant to be a game.
  And the truly beautiful thing is that the characters that you will be playing are people who actually existed in our world. We have ten pre-generated player characters included in the module. Wander around the French Quarter as Jean Lafitte or Baroness Pontalba. Perhaps have a bit of fun in one of the city’s brothels as Aleister Crowley. Carve through the city’s villains as famed folk hero Annie Christmas…You may even meet the legendary Marie Laveau.
  And, if you enjoy the Gothic horror and intrigue, we truly believe that you will love being a part of this story.
  This is the first story in a trilogy. When our funding goals are met for part one, we will begin our work on part two, and follow through with part three in the same manner.
