World of the Amazing Universe: Neutronium and Polymorphic Material (Super-Powered by M&M)

Publisher: LPJ DesignThe advent of powers such as superhuman strength or the ability to damage the toughest materials with but a touch highlighted the need for metals with greater toughness and durability than the strongest steel available. Such a material needed to possess both the ability to resist any form of damage and the capacity to absorb tremendous amounts of punishment. After years of research and countless failed attempts, a group of four individuals discovered neutronium, an almost invulnerable steel alloy. Their discovery became the standard for building weapons, powered armor suits, and fortified structures.
The advent of super-powered individuals and groups introduced many unexpected problems and challenges. One of the smaller, yet especially vexing challenges involved uniforms and duty fatigues worn by those possessing powers. When a person with the ability to burst into flame used their power, they turned their uniform to ash. When a person with the power to increase their size did so, they burst through their uniform. Issues of modesty notwithstanding, the destruction of a uniform represents a problem for those with powers as it leaves them more vulnerable to injury and threatens to expose their secret identity if they possess one.
