Allowing your eyes to adjust to the significant darkness, you spot the dimmest light refracting off pooled water from a doorway. Hearing others breathing nearby, you wait quietly to gauge whether or not they are a threat.
After a brief moment, and loud clang is heard from the doorway. A light slowly brightens as an individual wearing tattered robes and a mask enters. “You’re up next, the lot of you. Make peace, you’ll be dead in a bit. Bring ‘em.” Turning to a small entourage of dargoth, they rush in and lift your cages, bringing you up a wooden stairway.
Exiting into the open air, rain pounds the wooden deck of the ship you are aboard. Lightning cracks the sky, illuminating for a brief moment the plank overboard and the gathering of deckhands. A woman’s voice can be heard above the din and screams, “Fasten the belts everyone!” At the same moment, humongous tentacles burst from the ocean, enveloping the galleon in their grasp, making the dargoth lose control and your cage tumble to the ground, breaking it open. In the chaos, you decide this is the time to make your escape.
