Out, a half dozen miles beyond the northernmost tip of the mainland, is an island. An island of myth and mystery, shrouded in an endless thunderstorm. The mythical Esphodel Isle, where the sun never touches and time seems to stand still. Esphodel Isle is dominated by towering mountains, abandoned mines, and cursed graveyards, all full of secrets and treasure. And at the peak of the great spire Cloudripper sits the dreaded Mythmyre Citadel, the seat of an ancient power.
An eon ago Esphodel Isle was the domain of the city-state Kaylon, a prominent power in mainland politics and supplier of rare gemstones. But one night, under a blood moon, a thunderstorm formed directly above Esphodel Isle, shrouding the island in fog. No one has been seen or heard from since.
Now, an eon later, the treasures of Esphodel Isle still gnaw at the mainlanders. “An island of infinite gemstones, fresh for the taking.” And not to mention the mystery of the island itself, and the fate of those who lived there. Many have tried to brave the challenges of Esphodel, and many have failed, but maybe you will be the first to succeed.
