Torg Rules Variations [BUNDLE]

Publisher: Ulisses SpieleThis special bundle product contains the following titles.Torg Eternity Alternative Character SheetRegular price: 0Bundle price: 0Format: PDF One of the things I like about Call Of Cthulhu (bear with me) is that you can give a player a blank character sheet and that’s all they need to do the majority of their character creation. Part of the reason for that is every skill that they might put points into is listed right there on the character sheet.
Given that Torg has a limited list of skills and that many of the skills can be used untrained, it seems like missing a trick not to list every skill on the character sheet. Players then know exactly what skills they, or any other character, may have available.
This document is intended to ease and speed up character generation and play at the table. If you have suggestions to improve it further, please drop me a line! …Torg Eternity Alternative Dice SystemsRegular price: 0Bundle price: 0Format: PDF I am a big fan of Torg Eternity but not of the Bonus Table. Rolling a die, just to look up that number on a table to get another number seems unnecessarily clumsy to me. This is a collection of suggestions for other ways of rolling skill checks without changing the overall system in any way.
This monograph was prompted by the following paragraph in the Infiniverse Rules document:
Furthermore, you have permission to use the rules of any other open license system (such as FATE, Open D6, and others, for example), or to convert systems of your own design, if doing so does not violate the guidelines of the license of your target system(s).
With that in mind, I’d like to present 5 alternatives; some of my making, some based on mechanic…Torg Eternity Cheat SheetsRegular price: 0Bundle price: 0Format: PDF There are things that I always forget when playing TORG and I am not a fan of GM screens generally as I don’t like the physical barrier between myself and the players.
TORG also encourages transparency between the players and the rules; players need to have a good grasp of the rules to understand their options and to play effectively.
With that in mind, I have put together these ‘cheat sheets’ that can be printed off and given to the players (I suggest doing them double-sided if you can and I have numbered them that way). That way, the GM doesn’t have to remind everyone of their options all the time or what an effect a certain keyword has.
I’d recommend that you check out the preview first and see if they are the kind of thing that you…Torg Eternity Playing Without CardsRegular price: 0Bundle price: 0Format: PDFI’m a fan of using the cards in Torg but even the original designers recognized that there are GMs who prefer to play without the cards and gave some brief guidelines in the Core Rules for playing without cards.
The Free RPG Day scenario presented a Torg game without using the card decks as a quick way of introducing new players to Torg.  That is a commendable goal and I hope this card-less set of suggested rules for Torg caters to those that want to play but don’t have their decks to hand or who have perhaps purchased the Core Rule book in PDF and still want to get a good flavor of Torg. …Torg Eternity Positive and Negative DescriptorsRegular price: 0Bundle price: 0Format: PDF Modern narrative games have introduced the idea of descriptive phrases that players can refer to in narrating their actions and which can have a mechanical benefit during the game.
That’s an easy idea in principal but how would you apply it to Torg Eternity? This is my attempt at implementing the idea in TORG.  Fate refers to these as aspects, Marvel Heroic Role-playing called them assets and complications. Now, while I hate changing industry terminology just for the sake of it, I am going to refer to these phrases as descriptors, either positive or negative.
For those of you not familiar with the idea from other games, a descriptor is simply a phrase or short sentence describing something and that, when used, gives the player some mechanical benefit.&n…Torg Eternity Using Fudge/Fate DiceRegular price: 0Bundle price: 0Format: PDF Not with the intention of plugging my own work but you might have purchased the Alternative Dice Systems that I wrote for Torg Eternity, I am still searching for that sweet spot that provides the simplest gaming experience without losing the feel of Torg and that allows you to pick up and play all the great stuff from Torg Eternity. I don’t want the game mechanics to break player immersion in the game if I can help it.
With that goal still in mind, I have another variation that you might like. In the Positive and Negative Descriptors booklet, I suggested ways of using something very like Fate Aspects in Torg Eternity and that led me to looking at whether Fudge/Fate dice could fit into Torg at my table. As …Total value:0Special bundle price:0Savings of:0 (18%)Price: $12.25
