Heroes Of Steam 2 [Dungeon World Playbook Bundle]

Publisher: Pleb PublishingNow on temporary leave from the hospital, we’ve finally finished Heroes of Steam 2, whose gorgeous cover art has been done by Nick Ladd. This bundle contains a verity of new materials for players and GMs alike to use in Dungeon World. There is 26 new classes, along with new magics, items, tags, and services. With this is also an updated and expanded version of the Sideshow Advanced Moves and Compendium Classes from For Your Entertainment, along with an updated version of Puppet Magic from Pull The String (both of which will be added to their respective bundles.) All the new classes have all been thoroughly playtested, (except for the Chairbound, which we added last minute inspired by all the time spent being carted around a hospital in a wheel chair,) which are as follows:
-The Activist: A rabble rouser who leads the masses of an industrial society. -The Artificial Intelligence: A mechanical being whose intelligence aids the party in all situations, from studying and research, to combat and planning heists. -The Big Game Hunter: Grab your elephant rifle and blast fantasy monsters to hang in your study. -Bullet Angel: A criminal given a second chance and reborn as a holy gunslinger, out to make the world a better place. -The Bulwark: A massive defensive automation designed to keep the party alive, something players aren’t the most apt at. -The Chairbound: A important figure who was crippled, then hardwired into a mechanical mode of transportation so they can continue on. Many archetypes to choose from, such as famous wizard, scientist, power psychic, etc. -The Conduit: Someone who controls the flow of electricity and weaponizes it. The class also gets bonuses when they are electrocuted, which is something you’ll be doing to yourself a lot. -The Engineered Chimera: a person spliced with animal ‘jenes’ and put into sideshows to draw crowds. You must draw on your animalistic mutations and nature to survive. -The Fernweh: You’ve mastered time, able to speed up or slow down the flow of time around objects and people. -The Furnace: a bulky automation that serves as a walking furnace. Belch flames at people or smashed them with your brick fists. -The Giant of Joy: a massive machine that’s part robot, part theme park ride. You’re not really designed for adventuring, but seeing how carnival machines have a yearly fatality rate that rivals your average party of murder hobo adventurers. -The Machine Driver: you have a supernatural will that dominates machines and forces them into working order and to obey the abusive commands you give them. -The Medical Assistant: A highly customizable class that lets you wield many aspects of the medical world. Does more than just ‘healing.’ I swear. -The Newshound: A unique class about information hunting and disrupting your enemies in weird near slapstick acts of blinding them with photography, social pressure, and unbearably uncomfortable interviews in the middle of combat. -The Nihilist: a dark philosopher whose soul-crushing ideologies numb and corrupt those he preaches at, as well as carelessly blasting away at friends and foes. -The Ontos: A steam powered robotic mech that carries an apoplectic ordnance. -The Ordnance Caster: A spellcaster who specializes in magic that buffs weapons. Just so happens the weapon they use is a bazooka. -The Portalist: The sister class to the Fernweh. Someone who has mastered the laws of space, allowing them to create portals. -The Prospector: A tight fisted treasure hunter who knows about geology, appraising, swindling, and caving people’s head in with digging tools.  -The Siphonapterianoid: a ‘flea person’ put into sideshows to draw crowds. A bouncy, hard to pin down blood sucker that covers grounds with inhuman jumping abilities. A master of distraction of nuisance. -The Steamborg Worker: a construction worker who has one of their limbs replaced with a heavy industrial steam-powered tools. You can burst through walls, rip open armored enemies, and avoid workplace hazards others will fall victim to. -The Taxidermist: The modern-day necromancer. You stuff dead animals and put clockwork parts in them, using your strange and unusual hobby to produce strange an unusual servants to go out and do your strange and unusual requests. -The Test Subject: A freak of nature with a changing set of powers. Will you resist the dark purpose you were made for, or embrace it? -The Transient: A homeless drifter who floats from town to town. Excellent at navigating cities and dungeons and sneaking up on others. Very resourceful to survive this harsh world. -The Webber: Either a spider-humanoid hybrid mutant or someone whose lower half is replaced with a mechanical spider-like body. Either way you were put into sideshows to draw crowds. You can do spider like things, shoot webs, crawl up walls, eat people, etc.

There is also three new lists of spells that players can wield: -Mythonian Magic: The magic of strange beings and gods from beyond our puny mortal world. These spells wield mind-bending and otherworldly effects, and those thar are Insane or open themselves to madness can reap a greater reward from these dangerous powers.
-Industrial Incantation: New age magic invented alongside and to compliment the budding technologies developed during the steam age. Revolves around the protection, creation, buffing, and restoration of machines along with other industrial related powers. Such magics can even burn resources as fuel to enhance their effects.
-Sewer Sorcery: Magic developed by those who live in the sprawling sewer systems and garbage dumps of the industrial societies. These spells are all about the rot and filth of the world, having equally deaerating devastation on the living and the inanimate alike. This magic is prone to cover more ground and effecting multiple targets with its contagious nature. Along with this there is an updated version of Puppet Magic, from the Pull The Strings bundle, which will be added later to that bundle. Its been radically expanded upon and improved. While there are only a few puppet classes in this bundle, the mechanical beings of the steam age will greatly benefit from these spells as well.

A note on the older bundles: Now that our lead writer and playtest is starting to go in and out of the hospitals, and with Covid suppressed in our corner of the world, we are committed to updating all of our older playbook bundles, likely adding new classes to them and side sheets to them like we’ve done in this bundle. Again, between hospitalization and lockdowns due to the pandemic this will take time but we’re making slow steady strives. We’ll be updating all the older bundles in the order they were released, starting with Dark & Twisted. It’s unsure if we will release them as a new product or keep them as is, but either way if you paid for them previously, we intend that you’ll get the updated version of those classes for free.
Also in no way do you need Heroes of Steam 1 to utilize this bundle.Price: $10.00
