Fairy Trails: Kickstarter Preview

Publisher: Bandit CampNow live on Kickstarter!  This is the playtest/preview of the Fairy Trails book.
Fairy Trails is a game about Fairies that travel the world going on missions filled with hijinks and pranks.  The Fairies in the game have all been chased from their forest by Old Mr. Foggyhat. You might be traveling to find a new home or you might be traveling to gain power and reclaim the forest that is rightfully yours.  You’ll make friends along the way, gather allies, and go on dozens if not hundreds if not thousands of adventures.  You can travel the world to exotic locals!  Meet colorful locals!  Create something new and wonderful every time you play!  Cue the epic music!
So, what kind of Fairy are you going to be?  A rough and tumble Gnasher that catches, wrangles, and trains battle squirrels?  A sophisticated Pixie wizard that enchants bees out of their honey?  A dashing Nixie knight that rescues Fairy princes from predatory hawks?  The options aren’t limitless but there sure are a lot of them!

Fairy Trails features:
Powered by the Apocalypse: Built using minor tweaks to the PbtA system. A nice simple system that focuses on continuing the story.
Fairies!: You get to play them. There are 7 Fairies in total, each with their own super special and fun abilities.
The Courts: There’s a total of 13 Courts to choose from with different Scene Setters and spells (we call them Geasa) and a bunch of other stuff too.
Scene Setters: These are powerful abilities that players get to use at the start of a session. During their mission (we call them Outings) the players get to choose some important element that they want the GM (we call them Drivers) to work into the Outing. Stuff like “I wanna fight Sir Ratman McSneezy.” If the Driver works it into the story the player gets an immediate bonus when their Scene Setter arrives. If the Driver doesn’t the player gets a bonus at the end of the mission because their special thing didn’t happen.
Maladies: If you mess up too much you get Maladies. Maladies give you negatives to dice rolls. You get rid of them by doing irrational but very Fairy-like things.
Size Based Fighting: To reflect the smallness of your characters the strength of your Rivals is determined by their bigness.
Maps and NPCs!: We supply you with tons of content to draw from. You just have to sit back, relax and run the game.
Base Progression: As the game progresses you acquire more stuff for the Cart, making your future characters more powerful and giving you more character options.
Reroll Mechanics: Use Fairy Magic to reroll bad rolls! But beware! Sometimes calling on Fairy Magic can have terrible consequences (but they make the game a lot more fun and interesting).
A Simple Formula: Running a session is a simple process. We give you a nice easy list to follow to make sure that it’s pretty impossible to flub up the order of things.
Retirement Options: For people who like to play lots of characters, there’s a system in place to make sure you’re not losing out.
Self-Contained Sessions: It’s easy for the GM to give the reins to other players. It’s also the perfect game for busy people. Each session is self contained so the game can keep on rolling even if the players and GM change.
Kid Friendly!: The math is simple, the game is light-hearted and can be as nonsensical as you like. This here is a great intro to RPGs for the children.
