Brutalix is a combat system of optional vicious woundings and combat modifications for Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition gameplay.SUGGESTED FOR PARTIES OF LEVEL 3 AND HIGHERMELEE & SPELL ATTACKSFor an attack roll, on a roll of 19 on the die that hits its target, roll on the Vicious table. This effect is in addition to the standard damage and effects of the attack. On a critical hit, that is to say a roll of 20 (or 21, see Ruthless below) on the attack die, damage is the maximum of each die roll applicable plus any modifiers, and in addition a roll on the Brutalix table.RUTHLESSAt any time during the attack roll, before a hit or miss is declared, the attacking player may declare a Ruthless attack, and spend one point of Inspiration OR gain one level of Exhaustion to increase their die roll by 1 or 2 (their choice). This can turn a miss into a hit, or a 17 into a 19, or an 18 or 19 into a 20 or 21, and trigger the appropriate Brutalix table effects.Note: Enemy creatures may not use Ruthless.FAILIf a weapon attack roll results in a 1, the attacker must make a DC15 DEX check. If they fail, roll for a result on the appropriate Fail table. If a spell attack roll results in a 1, the caster must make a DC15 check in whatever their applicable spellcasting ability is. If they fail, roll for a result on the appropriate Fail table.Price: $1.49
