100 Books to Find on a Mage’s Bookshelf

Publisher: White WolfKnowledge is power, as any mage understands, and books can be a source of knowledge. They can also be a source of misinformation and errors, whether deliberate or not. This is a collection of 100 different books that could be found on a mage’s bookshelf. They include subjects such as history, biographies and theory. They are actual, at least intended to be, as they could be deliberate misinformation or just plain wrong. The books can be used to flesh out the bookshelf of another mage, or an organisation’s library. Whether or not a particular book is of any use is up to the Storyteller. Some books may be valuable; others may be filled with erroneous rubbish. The titles are all given in English, although the books may be based on non-English works. They may also be based on older works, with these just being a more recent edition. This PDF supports Adobe layers and the page backgrounds and images can be disabled to make printing easier. Here are some sample results:

Interpreting the Tarot by Mathias Schlager (An extremely esoteric work on how the tarot applies to mages, taken from a heavily mystic standpoint and mostly the author’s own interpretations)

Investigating Resonance by Bertrand MacLeish (The author’s studies of various locations known to have a strong Resonance, with an emphasis on those that are unpleasant)

Jodi Blake: A Warning from History by Lucía Tasis (A biography of Jodi Blake, the Matriarch, and how she stands as a warning for other mages as to the dangers of corruption)

Leaving the Unimaginative by Ada Lowther (How the Electrodyne Engineers split from the Technocrats after the Lightning Purge and the Inner Circle’s attempt to reign them in, forming the new Sons of Ether; written by an author who clearly favours the Etherites imaginative strange science over the order of the Technocratic Union)

Legends of Midrealm by Vegar Hage (The Midrealm, in all its names, and its appearance in mythology and legend in many different cultures)
